Participation!
Fill out the Participation Form, which informs the community of how you plan to participate!
In an effort to be accessible, participation fees are sliding scale ranging from $90 to $250.
We kindly ask that those who are able to contribute more please do so to help offset the necessary event expenses

Arrival, Vehicles & Parking:

**NO ENTRY after 6pm SAT**
Absolutely no vehicles, including RVs and trailers, will be allowed into the back field. Be prepared to load all of your gear into the shuttle and then use wagons to transport gear from the back field shuttle stop to your campsite!
Artists, Theme Camps, Infrastructure
If you're setting up art, a theme camp, or infrastructure you must arrive or drop off between Fri July 24 and Tues July 28 in order to access the back field with a vehicle. This will still be weather dependent!
Here are a few important things to know about Barning Arts!
This is a participatory event! You will get out of it what you put into it! Come as you are!
This is a Leave No Trace, carry-in, carry-out event. Each person and camp is responsible for their own trash and recycling. Help us keep the grounds clean & tidy and avoid porta pottie catastrophes!!
MOOP is Matter Out Of Place, which is anything that does not naturally occur in a particular place! Examples: glitter, plastic, banana peels, reusable water bottles
Personal light expression is essential! Lighting your camp area, your person, your art, and all other things!
As a community, we agree to uphold to the Ten Principles of Burning Man and the Eleventh Principle: Enthusiastic Consent!
RVs, campers, buses, and trailers require a vehicle pass and there is limited space for them in the quiet camping area.
This site has *no electricity* - we repeat no electricity!
Bring everything you need to survive in the woods - including food and water!

Submitting early is highly encouraged as space is limited!
Participation fees are nonrefundable, but they are transferable to another person! Simply email participate at barningarts dot org and inquire!
Participation forms are one per person! You can fill one out for someone else, but each form accounts for only one participant! Children 16 years and younger do not need a participation form to attend. See Below!
Partici-pants come in all sizes, shapes, colors, and fabrics!
Everyone has an art form! You’re invited to unveil yours.
Where does my money go?
Necessary event expenses include farm rental, portal potties, town permit, event insurance, power, sound, lights, and other fun infrastructure that we work to provide at a low cost!
In 2022 the funds that exceeded the cost of the event went towards The Living HARP, A Barning Arts Collective art project that was built for Barning Man and then rebuilt, dismantled, and brought to Burning Man!
In 2023 we launched a micro grant program! We received and funded 11 applications with a total of $1000.
In 2024 and 2025 we expanded the art grant program!
Art grant applications are closed for 2026! Thanks for your submissions!

Notes on bringing children to Barning Ma'am!
All humans are welcome to attend! Please be aware of the following:
Humans over 12 years old require a participation form
This event is child friendly, but not necessarily geared towards children
There will very likely be nudity
Your young human must be attended to at all times!
You are choosing to expose your young human to a whole host of unexpected and unpredictable occurrences much of which will likely be super fun for them, but there is no guarantee of appropriateness!
